Astrophytum asterias cv. Ooibo is a striking cultivar of Astrophytum asterias, a spineless, dome-shaped cactus native to Mexico and Texas. The “Ooibo” variety is distinguished by its unusually large, prominent white areoles that give the plant a speckled, star-like appearance against its smooth green surface. It typically has 8 ribs and produces showy yellow flowers with orange-red centers in summer. This slow-growing cactus is highly prized by collectors for its symmetry and ornamental texture.
